Application Requirements

All applicants are required to complete the online application.  Upon starting an application, applicants will receive an email containing a PIN (personal identification number) and password, which are generated by the online application system.  The PIN and password are necessary for accessing the ApplyYourself application, to monitor the application status, and to view the receipt of supplemental materials.  All required supplementary materials must be submitted electronically.  A complete application consists of the following (details are provided by clicking on each link):

Application Deadline

For Fall 2017 admission, the application deadline is January 16, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. EST.  Spring admission is not offered.
Visiting Johns Hopkins

For a visit to our department, prospective graduate students should email a request to classics@jhu.edu. Please provide at least two weeks’ notice when requesting a visit. If you would like to learn more about visiting Johns Hopkins in general, please see the JHU Visitor Information page. The Graduate Affairs and Admissions Office typically offers a tour of the campus every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Applicants should check the Visit Us web page to verify the scheduled tour prior to arrival.
