Prof. Matthew Roller has been elected president of the Society for Classical Studies, the national professional association and learned society for Classicists. He will serve as President-elect from January 2022 and will become President in January 2023. This honor is as rare as it is significant in the field at large since it has not been held by a Hopkins Classicist since the 1970s, and prior to that in the 1920s.
