BA, Classical Studies, Tulane University (2022)
Sarah Kenton joined Johns Hopkins University in 2024 after receiving her MA in Classical Studies at Tulane University. Her research focuses on race, ethnicity, and identity in antiquity, with one of her MA qualifying papers focusing on depictions of non-Athenians on Attic pottery. She also has interests in memory and its connections to both identity and grief which she often explores through consolatory texts and medieval reception of the classics in literature. To that end, Sarah’s other MA qualifying paper focuses on the influence of Greco-Roman literature on the gendered characteristics of animals in medieval bestiaries. During her MA, Sarah participated in the Pompeii I.14 Project and the ASCSA’s archaeology of caves seminar.
